Our final championship is the College Men’s 4×400. The entered teams are Auburn, Michigan, LSU, TCU, St. Augustine’s, Florida, Mississippi State, and Texas A&M.

First, like for the women, we have a consolation heat with a number of fine entrants. Despite a very shaky final handoff (which probably cost them 1-2 seconds), South Carolina has won the consolation heat in 3:10.21.

Now, time for the championship heat . . . . Texas A&M at the first exchange . . . . TCU at the halfway point.

TCU has opened up a lead, by Mississippi State is closing fast on the 3rd leg. TCU, LSU, Miss State and St. Aug’s are all in it at the bell lap.

TCU holds on with a wire-to-wire victory in 3:07.33.  Due to perhaps the cold swirling wind, that is the slowest winning time since 1980.  Nonetheless, an excellent run for TCU.
