Our next championship is the High School Boys 4×100. In the last decade or so, this has been the exclusive domain of our Jamaican and Trinidadian friends – they own 9 out of the 10 top times ever including the only time under 40 seconds. St. Jago of Jamaica is our top seed today.
St. Jago, with a good lead on the third leg, unfortunately had a fall and did not finish. Calabar of Jamaica wins in 40.74, followed by Camperdown in 41.04. Westlake (MD) was the top US team in 41.38.
We also have two heats that follow the championship, which have the next fastest 8 teams sorted by small school and large school.
The small school division was won by Queen’s Royal College of Trinidad in 42.01.
The large school division was won in the exact same time, 42.01, by Western Branch of Virginia.
