College Men’s Steeplechase: Scott Macpherson of Arkansas made a big move off the penultimate water jump and won in 8:44.64. Results.

Olympic Development Men’s Steeplechase: Eric Ashe jumped Luke Watson at the bell and nearly stole the race, but Watson had another gear and moved back into the front in the final 10 meters, for a 8:55.84-8:56.06 victory. Results.

Women’s Steeplechase (College & OD combined in one race): Fridereke Feil of Florida Atlantic and Stephanie Pancoast of Cornell broke away from the field in the final kilometer. Pancoast took the win in 10:30.46. Results: College and OD.

College Women’s 3000: Lucy Van Dalen (Stony Brook) bolted into the lead with one lap to go, but couldn’t hold off Danielle Tauro of Michigan, who edged ahead in the final stride and won, 9:33.18 to 9:33.32. Defending champ Liz Costello (Princeton) led most of the way and wound up third, in 9:36.16. Results.

College Women’s 5000: SEC rivals Genevieve LaCaze (Florida) and Jackie Aerson (Tennessee) battled over the final 600, with Aerson putting on a major burst in the final 150 to run 16:11.71. LaCaze finished in 16:13.61. Results.

Olympic Development Women’s 5000: Toni Salucci broke away after 3500 meters and quickly established a 40 meter lead. She won easily in 16:17.70, even as Amanda LoPiccolo (16:20.83) closed fast over the final two laps. Results.

College Men’s 5000: Patrick Sovacool of Miami (OH) ran solo for most of the race, opening up as much as 30 meters on the field. A determined chase pack gradually closed ground and Mike Krisch of Georgetown took the lead at 4400 meters. A lap later Chris Clark of California (PA) and John Anderson of Army came flying by. Anderson had just enough for the win, 13:58.23 to 13:58.51. Results.
