Event 78: Olympic Development women’s 5000-meter run: Former Villanova runner Frances Koons pulled away from defending champion Toni Salucci on the last lap to win in 15:43.78–15:45.65. Event 79: College men’s 5000-meter run championship: William & Mary’s Lewis Woodard bolted into the lead at the bell then held on in the final 50 meters to win in 14:01.51.
