After a long weekend of getting information together on the Penn Relays, the schedule for the 2010 Carnival is now online. Click here to access it. If you click on an event, the entries will show up, with one exception. That exception is the college events, which won’t be posted online for another week.

And like we reported last week, the World’s fastest man, Jamaica’s Usain Bolt, will be running in the USA vs. the World 4×100-meter relay, scheduled for 2:50 pm on Saturday, April 24th. Bolt’s competition agent, Ricky Simms, said of his return to the Relays, “Usain has been looking forward to going back to the Penn Relays for some time. There are so many Jamaican fans in the stadium, they create a carnival atmosphere and he is looking forward to a great event.”

Said Maina: “I had it planned to kick with one lap to go but the leading guys slowed too much, they started to settle down so I went with 2 laps to go.”

Anthony Famigletti is in the men’s Olympic Development race. Fam ran a U.S. leading 8:26.94 last week at the Mt. SAC Relays. He takes an early 10m lead over Nicodemus Naimandu, who won the college steeple the past three years while at Abilene Christian. At the halfway point the lead is 25 meters and David Cheromei is in second, 5 meters up on Naimand… With a lap to go (7:15) the lead is about 100 meters… Famigletti wins in 8:24.24, breaking his own Penn record of 8:25.02. Naimandu rallies for second in 8:42.20, with Cheromei third in 8:46.10. Fam also sets a new Franklin Field record of 8:24.86 by James Munyala of UTEP at the 1976 NCAA championships.
